Hey everyone, so the title says it all and this is going to be more of an opinion based blog about whether there should be a PG-13 version of the now rated R movie Deadpool. If you are like me then you grew up in the time of Deadpool comics and there was not destine future for the comic other, then it being a comic book. When we all heard of the release by Marvel we were all excited about the film and how can you have Ryan Reynolds as the Green Lantern and Deadpool is beyond me but he seems to fit the Deadpool requirements. Many children and young teens of today are in uproar that they cannot see the movie Deadpool because of the rating being rated R. Last time I checked it didn’t matter if the movie was PG-13 or Rated R kids still get in to see the movie with there parents who are probably Deadpool fans and want to share in something special with there kids.
I do understand that there are some parents out there that
think that everything with any sort of violence in it would be bad for their
child but in all reality you don’t hear mass murderers say they got the idea
from a Marvel movie. Plus, even RyanReynolds thinks that the film should stay rated R and this is what he said
about it.
"I don’t think so. I mean, you saw it. That would be a very
short movie. It’s almost a commercial at that point."
He has a point to, I have yet to see the movie but I am
going to see it this week. Even watching
the trailers of the movie you can tell if they cut all of that out the movie
would be shorten and Ryan Reynolds would probably have to go in and dub over
parts to make it suitable for all age ranges which could turn out to cost Fox more to make. I understand that if there were two different versions to the movie it would grow and expand the fan base of the popular comic book. In the end people just have to understand that there are rules and regulations to making a film and BUDGETS. Fox may not even have a budget to even consider making the film PG-13.
